How to Use Your Oil for the First Time

A gentle guide to honouring your body, your needs, and your experience.

1. Start with a Patch Test

Before using your oil on intimate areas, we recommend a patch test on your inner elbow.

• Apply a very small amount to the inner crease of your elbow.
• Wait 24 hours.
• If no irritation occurs, you may proceed to test on your vulva.

2. Slowly Introduce the Oil to Your Vulva

Apply one small drop to the outer labia (the outer lips of the vulva).

• Wait at least 2 hours to observe how your body responds.
• If everything goes well, gently apply another drop of oil (or more if you are feeling confident), and observe your body
• It should feel instantly soothing—your body will tell you if it’s a good fit. 
• If you experience any itching, irritation, or discomfort, discontinue use. This is a sign that this particular blend isn’t the right match for your body.

3. Build a Ritual That Works for You

• After bathing is a wonderful time to apply, or after using the bathroom - everyone is different! 
• Start small and observe how your skin feels.
• You may need more or less depending on your unique needs—trust your body to guide you.
• Some women use it daily, others only occasionally. Let your body decide.

4. If Using During Intimacy

• Apply to the entire vulva, especially around the vaginal opening and clitoral hood.
• Before penetration, reapply a small amount to the vaginal opening and, if relevant, to your partner.
• Focus on slow, mindful movement to allow the oil to spread naturally and for your body to feel fully prepared.
• Reapply as needed.

For on going infections, seek the assistance of an integrative doctor and a naturopath to address the issues causing the infection. Boric Acid is incredible, and works well with Divine on the vulva, to help keep the area clean.

• Can I use Divine whilst pregnant? Please check with your integrative doctor or midwife before using. Divine can be helpful for any itching and chafing that comes with the changes of pregnancy.

• I have Idiopathic Dermatitis, will this help? Divine is not the right solution for this unfortunately!

• Will Divine cure LS or remove the need for steroids? We do not and will never claim to be a cure for Lichen Sclerosus, and hopefully a cure is found for this frustrating condition. Some customers have noticed an improvement in their symptoms to the point they no longer use other products, we cannot guarantee all customers will have that same incredible result. Every one is unique and each of us have different lifestyles, nutrition choices, and stressors we face.

• Will Divine affect my pH? Since oils are not aqueous solutions, they lack a pH value. The amount of hydrogen ions in an aqueous solution determines the pH value. Oils are made up of long-chain fatty acids and are insoluble in water. Hence, they lack a pH value and cannot be classified as acidic or basic. Since oils lack pH, they are considered neutral and have no effect on the pH balance of the skin or other surfaces with which they come into contact.Some oils, such as those with a high content of linoleic acid, may help to maintain the skin's natural pH balance, which is what Divine was created with. 

• What is the average dose like? Our doses are small, and focused on the vulva, clitoris, and around the anus area. Each of you has your own unique anatomy, with differing symptoms and lifestyles. We recommend starting small and learning what your body requires, which is 1-3 drops onto pad's of fingers, gently dabbing and smoothing onto the tissues needing relief.
